SMIT believes that curricular and co-curricular activities have equal significance in the teaching-learning process. To encourage the students to showcase their hidden talent and to provide them a platform where they can exhibit their potential and creativity, Annual Day is celebrated at SMIT with great joy by the students and faculties with active participation.   

Felicitation and distribution of certificates of merit in due acknowledgement to the students of the college for their exemplary performance in different academic and non-academic pursuits forms another segment of the programme.

Students of today need mentoring and proper direction to channelize their capabilities. The various activities performed on the occasion include plays and skits, fashion show, songs and dances under different styles, musical performances, acrobatics and gymnastics, fine art activities and so forth. The students anchor different segments of the function with a view to work independently.

The audience comprising students, faculty, staff, members of civil society, alumni, former teachers, etc., enjoy every item of the programme with a great fun. Especially students are seen highly jubilant and appreciate the performances of their fellow students by putting their hands together. The gathering on this occasion is addressed by the guests with special focus on students to work hard and smart and be confident to face the challenges of real life.
